Garden Lover’s Oasis

This avid gardener’s backyard was in need of a makeover. The garage hindered visual access, the yard was overgrown and the lawn was not in good shape. See how this space was transformed into a garden lover’s oasis in this House & Home video:

Dining, transitional, vegetable garden and pavilion zones were created in the backyard. To open up the sight line, the garage was replaced by a carport that doubles as a covered carport on one side and a pergola-style dining area on the other, allowing the dining set to be moved under cover in the event of rain or intense sunlight. The pavilion consists of two large flanking storage spaces and a banquette style lounge in the center. Cedar was used throughout to harmonize the space.

Most of the plants were removed and replaced with a variety of new ones that provide continuous blooms from May through September. The pea gravel and stone that segment the gardens are European-inspired.
