This dining room fills its traditional role as a place to gather for meals, and it does so with style. It is situated between the great room and the kitchen in this open concept floor plan, so it’s important that everything in it works with the entire space.

A farmhouse style table in a bleached gray wood looks worn and weathered in the best way possible. It works equally well for family dinners, board games, or buffet-style entertaining. The seating is just as versatile as the combination of wooden chairs, slipcovered armchairs and a banquette can pull double duty as comfortable extra seating that can be used anywhere in the house.

The fabrics were thoughfully chose to work in a dining space as well. The white cotton duck slipcovers can easily be removed for cleaning, and the chic but completely casual blue-and-white ticking used on the banquette is durable indoor-outdoor fabric.

A forged iron traditional style chandelier above the table helps delineate the dining space as its own unique space within the great room. The beautiful cased opening with detailed trim work frames the dining space and is flanked on both sides by delicate iron sconces that add just a touch of drama to the room.
