Add Quick Color with Annuals

Annuals are a quick and easy way to add instant color to your outdoor spaces. Learn how to select and plant annual flowers in this Lowe’s video:

Annuals are plants whose entire life cycle spans a single growing season. This means you can have fun adding one set of bright colors this year and then trying something completely different next year.

Start by arranging annuals in odd number combinations. Staggered groupings of 3’s and 5’s work best visually.
Put the taller plants in the back and the shorter ones up front, as if you were positioning people in a family photo. Before you dig, read the plant tag so you know the plant’s water, light, and spacing recommendations for optimum growth. Once they’re in the ground, water regularly until they become established.

Annuals are available in almost any color and size and are a great way to complement trees and shrubs and add impact to areas that need a little extra help. They also work well in containers and hanging baskets.

So grab a trowel, get outside, and add instant color to your landscape with annuals!
