Four Galley Kitchen Design Ideas
Maximize a galley kitchen with the four smart design ideas presented in this Better Homes and Gardens video:
A typical galley kitchen has two walls lined with cabinetry and appliances and a walkway in the middle. Use these four design ideas to create a beautiful and functional kitchen:
1. Space the appliances no more than eight feet apart to maximize the function of the kitchen’s work triangle.
2. Place the refrigerator on the outside of the galley for easy access to drinks and snacks without interfering with the cook.
3. Keep the center aisle as wide as possible. Four to six feet is ideal to fit two cooks in the kitchen, but three feet can work.
4. Create a pass-through or completely open the kitchen to an adjoining room to keep it from feeling cramped.
