Rescue Renovation of a Tiny Kitchen

This tiny kitchen was not only too small for this family of five, but after the upstairs toilet overflowed, the ceiling was ready to fall down! See the details of this rescue renovation in this DIY Network video:

The plan was to demolish the kitchen and open up the wall between the kitchen and the dining room, leaving a half-wall separation. The hardwood floors were patched and stained.

Features of this colorful contemporary renovated kitchen and dining room include:

  • Two-tone cabinets with green lowers and white uppers
  • Matching custom color cabinets
  • Farmhouse sink
  • Granite countertops
  • Embossed tin and stained glass backsplash
  • Mini mudroom
  • New back door
  • Built-on bench with white-painted wainscoting for the dining room wall

This two-room renovation came in under $32,000.
