When used for an island, the veining should be more graphic and bigger in scale and continuous from one edge to another to get a nice pattern.
A honed or matte finish is more suitable for casual style homes, while polished marble looks amazing in formal homes.
In terms of edging, the perfectly straight and smooth relaxed edge is transitional enough to go with any style of architecture.
Carrara marble may not be the best choice in kitchens where red wine or acidic juices are used because it stains.
