Tips For Creating a Calm Blue Bedroom
In design, you never want to have the “bedroom blues”. The homeowners wanted to transform their “overly” Tiffany blue master bedroom into a “retreat meets fun” space with ample storage for two. Designer Genevieve Gorder present several tips for creating a calm blue bedroom in this HGTV video:
Tiffany blue is not the most relaxing color. Paint the bedroom walls a lighter blue, especially one that intersects with green, to provide an organic calming feel.
Solve the storage problem and get things out of the guest bedroom by bringing in a wall of built-in wardrobes.
You don’t need to be afraid of pattern; however, layering patterns can be really tricky as you don’t want them to compete with each other. They should connect on a similar color pallett or texture. You can layer a simple black-and-white striped rug with an ancient, colorful, complex patterned rug. Adding a beautiful upholstered headboard with a patterned fabric can give the room prominence and calmness.
