All of the elements displayed in this video were cast in concrete using different forms. While concrete does make the pieces heavier, it is very durable, making it perfect for outdoor use.

Concrete is easy to mix and use. Just follow the manufacturer’s directions, be sure to wear proper protective gear, and always mix concrete in a well-ventilated area. Make the mixture a little soupier than normal to give your garden ornaments an extra smooth finish.

Almost anything can be used as a form – a tub, bucket or something unexpected like a cone. You can also use a globe for a light fixture as a form to create a ball. Keep in mind, though, that you will have to sacrifice the form in the unmolding process. Before pouring in the concrete, coat your forms with cooking spray for an easier release.
