How to Make a Galley Kitchen Feel Larger

A common complaint of owners of older homes is that they have a cramped kitchen. Designer Genevieve Gorder shares ideas on how to make a galley kitchen feel and work larger in this HGTV video:

Here are some quick solutions to a cramped kitchen:

1. Make the upper cabinets as tall as possible, extending them up to the ceiling.

2. Take the fronts off the upper cabinets and add glass doors to create a sense of depth and make the galley feel wider.

3. Install bold patterned tiles on the backsplash and behind the cabinets.

4. Replace your sink with a farmhouse sink, which provides more depth and takes up no additional counter space.

5. Maximize storage by installing a roll-out pantry.
