How to Create a Christmas Centerpiece

A fun and easy way to give any tabletop a warm, festive holiday look is by adding a centerpiece. This video by The Home Depot lists the materials you’ll need and shows you how to create a Christmas centerpiece:

You will need the following items for this DIY project:

  • Real or artificial wreath
  • Flocking spray
  • LED votives
  • Ribbon
  • Instant snow
  • Small ornaments
  • Flat circular tray or large piece of cardboard

Create your centerpiece by following these steps:

1. Flock the wreath: Lay the wreath flat and and spray the flocking spray straight down. This will create a realistic look of snow; you can layer the spray to create a look of thicker snow. Let dry for 4-6 hours.

2. Assemble the centerpiece: Place 3 or 5 LED votives in the center of the tray or cardboard (odd numbers provide the best look). Place the wreath around the candles so the edge of the tray or cardboard is completely hidden.

3. Add decorations: Use ribbon and small ornaments to add color and sparkle. Try to spread an even amount around the entire centerpiece.

4. Add more light: Add more LED votives to the center, using a mix of short and tall votives. LEDS with a soft yellow light will give a nice warm look. LEDs only are recommended as traditional candles can pose a fire hazard.

5. Make it snow: Add instant snow around the centerpiece, filling in any empty spots.

Now you’re ready to set your Christmas centerpiece on any table in any room that you’d like to warm up!
