Ultimate Man Cave for a Boston Sports Fan

What’s a die-hard Boston sport fan to do when he lives in New Jersey? Build his own sports bar – with help from the experts at DIY Network. Watch how a boring basement is turned into the ultimate Boston bar man cave in this video:

Built from scratch, the custom poker table has a felt tabletop, vinyl rails and cupholders.

The bar with the marble tile top was built in place. A 2×4 frame was attached to the floor and covered with red oak plywood and add the trim. For the bar top, 3/4 ” MDF was applied as a substrate, followed by cement board and then by marble tile. The tiles were placed directly next to each other without grout lines, making it easier to maintain. Other features include a built in beer kegerator, a brass overhead wine glass rack and a brass rail on the bottom.

A comfortable booth with a table and leather wraparound seating provides a great place for watching the games.

Finishing touches to this man cave include two plasma TVs and a Beantown Bar sign that makes the place glow.
