Small Outdoor Kitchen Design Featuring Bluestone and Natural Stone

See how natural stone veneers and bluestone countertops were incorporated into a small outdoor kitchen design in this video by LandscapingNetwork.com:

This outdoor area has three zones: one for the fire pit, the second for the outdoor kitchen and the third for the water feature. The outdoor kitchen with a barbecue grill was placed in the middle zone to create a gathering place for guests, which is facilitated by the kitchen’s connection to the bar.

Materials include bluestone slabs, which were used for the countertops, and natural stone veneers.

Here are some points to consider when designing your outdoor kitchen:

  • Countertop height should be 36″ with a width from 30″ to 36″, with the bar 4′ tall by 2′ wide.
  • Think about how much countertop space you will need and select durable materials.
  • The distance from your house will impact your choice of appliances. If the distance is small, as in this featured outdoor kitchen, a grill may be sufficient. If you plan a site further away, you may want to add a refrigerator, sink or beer tap.
