DIY Bathroom Renovation Project For a 70s Home
A bathroom renovation can add to the value of your home, and the good news is that it doesn’t have to be expensive. The homeowner wanted to update the bathroom in his ’70’s home as well as open up the space. Watch the DIY bathroom renovation in this Build.com video:
This project involved 1) removing the vanity, mirror and light fixture and going with a more contemporary Euro design, 2) replacing the valve and shower head in the bath/shower alcove and 3) reducing the clutter. Demolition occurred on Day 1, plumbing on Day 2 and installation on Day 3.
Features of this renovated bathroom include:
- White DreamLine Modern Bathroom Vanity with Kohler Fairfax single hole bathroom sink faucet with single lever handle – the design is more compact, making the space feel larger
- Kohler toilet with the Archer tank, elongated bowl and Cachet Quiet-Close seat
- Kohler Archer Alcove Jetted Whirlpool Tub with Devonshire Rite-Temp pressure-balancing bath and shower faucet trim
- Quoizel mirror
- Decorative shelving
Total cost of materials for this project: $3120
