These homeowners had lived on their farm for a while and wanted to build a modern home that overlooks their big red barn. This stunning minimal modern farmhouse has lots of boxy exterior angles, floor-to-ceiling windows that maximize the views and a showstopping staircase with a glass railing. The sleek kitchen and dining room have double story ceilings. There are black metal custom pieces and hidden storage throughout the home. The cozy living room has a flat fireplace covered with textured black tile, asymmetrical ceiling light fixtures, and custom minimal iron shelving. A side door leads into the mudroom which has built-in cabinetry. There are two powder rooms, one for the family and one for guests, and a kid’s office which serves as a homework area and a hangout space. In the principal bedroom, a half wall facing the window allows the custom upholstered bed to have a view of the outdoors.
