Manor-Inspired Main Floor Makeover

These homeowners wanted to reconfigure the flow of the main floor in their 1980’s home by opening the layout and expanding the kitchen. See the details of this manor-inspired main floor makeover in this House & Home video:

The previous kitchen and formal dining room were combined by taking down the walls and transposing the functionality, with the current kitchen in the previous dining space and the current dining room in the previous kitchen space. European elements such as handmade brass hardware and a mahogany island lend Old World touches to the contemporary kitchen, which also has striking tile on the hood surround and two appliance garages. In the family room, there is a new fireplace flanked by two big bookcases, a light wood ceiling, large comfortable sofas and chairs, and an oversized ottoman.
