How to Hang Pre-Lit Garland on the Outside of Your Home

Before you get started, plug in the garland to make sure all of the lights work. As you hang the garland, be gentle handling it as you don’t want to damage the garland or the lighting. If you have posts or railings, you can gently wrap the garland around the rails and then just affix a hook either at the top or the bottom to keep it in place.

You have a range of options for hooks. You can select hooks that can be applied using a removable sticker on the outside of the home so that it doesn’t damage the exterior. If you have wood trim, you can use a screw on the side ot the trim to conceal it, but you need to make sure the screw is long enough to hang the garland from. This is probably the most secure way to hang the garland.

Lastly, be sure you’re aware of where you’re going to plug in the garland. If there is an outdoor receptacle, that’s where you want to start so you can run an extension cord and then feed it to where you want the garland to hang so your home looks beautiful.
