How to Make a Burlap Sunflower Wreath

To create leaves:

  • Cut green burlap into 5 sections
  • Twist pipe cleaners onto outer edge of wreath frame
  • Bring two corners of the burlap together
  • Pinch burlap together at center
  • Place on top of pipe cleaner and twist in place
  • Continue working around frame

To create petals:

  • Cut yellow burlap into 30 sections
  • Twist pipe cleaners onto next rung
  • Add petals to pipe cleaners
  • Add petals on top of previously twisted pipe cleaners
  • Add two layers of yellow burlap
  • Stagger from previous layer so petals are offset
  • Repeat on each run until you reach center of frame

To create center:

  • Cut brown burlap into 3 sections
  • Secure sections together using zip tie
  • Braid the sections together
  • Secure end of braid using zip tie
  • Roll braid into circle
  • Secure using zip ties each quarter turn
  • Place into center of wreath
  • Secure using zip ties
