How to Make a Gabion Plant Stand

A gabion planter is constructed from weather-resistant wire and stones. It provides strong structure and style for your plants and can be placed anywhere outdoors. Learn how to make a gabion plant stand in this Better Homes and Gardens video:

1. Invert three heavy-gauge wire tomato cages.

2. Nest all three together. Adjust cages to create even grid openings.

3. Wrap wire at a few intersections to secure.

4. Use bolt cutters to nip off anchor legs.

5. Set cage in desired location.

6. Fill with fieldstones. Drop largest stones in first. Fill gaps with smaller stones.

7. Center a paver on top.

8. Place planted container on top of paver.
