You will need the following tools and materials:
- Kitchen sprayer
- Adjustable wrench or slip joint pliers
- Plumber’s putty
- Rags
1. Turn off the water at the shutoff valves or your main water supply valve. Open the sink faucet to drain out any water left in the lines.
2. Remove the old sprayer assembly. Disconnect the hose from the bottom of the faucet, then pull up on the old sprayer hose. Place rags under the water supply lines to catch any drips.
3. Loosen the mounting nut underneath that connects the old sprayer to your sink, then remove the assembly. Most can be loosened by hand, but if necessary, use an adjustable wrench.
4. Install the new sprayer. Apply a 1/4 inch bead of plumber’s putty along the bottom edge of the sprayer base, then place the sprayer’s tailpiece into the deck opening. Avoid using too much plumber’s putty as its thickness can prevent a proper seal. Underneath, secure the new sprayer with a friction washer and screw the mounting nut on top. Topside, be sure to wipe away any excess putty from around the base.
5. Attach the new sprayer hose to the connector nipple located at the bottom of your faucet. make sure the hose is secure and locks in place after connecting.
6. Once the installation is complete, turn the water back on to make sure the new connections are leak free.
