Coastal Style Kitchen and Master Bedroom

Interior designer Krista Watterworth Alterman gives a tour of her coastal style kitchen and master bedroom. See the features in this HouzzTV video:

As someone who cooks and entertains a lot, Krista needed a vibrant open kitchen with lots of surfaces and chose marble countertops and backsplash with lots of natural veining. The island has polished nickel fixtures, brass pendant lighting, a bevel top sink that supports a cutting board, and seating on two sides with handcrafted wooden bar stools. White cabinetry reflects all of the natural light entering the room. The new cabinetry in the island, the pantry and the media cabinetry in the adjacent room are painted in a gray blue stain. A shiplap ceiling elevates the entire space, and the travertine tile flooring makes it feel cozier.

The master bedroom is light and bright with a linen bed in coastal colors, white nightstands, a large drum light, beach photographs and an unusual accent wall with custom wallpaper featuring lyrics from the couple’s wedding song.
