How to Make a Dry Erase Wall

A dry erase wall is great for kids to figure out school work or to do a project list for your home. Learn how to make a dry erase wall in this Ace Hardware video:

The product featured in this video is the Rust-Oleum Dry Erase Paint Kit; it can go on walls or doors, and you can choose the size and shape of the space.

1. Tape off the desired section on the wall with painters tape.

2. Lightly sand the surface, then wipe it clean of dust.

3. Stir both of the cans separately with a painter’s stick., then pour Part A into Part B and stir thoroughly, combining the two.

4. Use a good quality dense foam roller to apply to the space for a smooth finish. You’ll have about an hour to apply the paint before it firms up. This is a one coat coverage paint, so once you’ve applied the paint, carefully remove the painters tape.

5. Allow 3-4 hours to fully dry. You’ll need to wait three days for it to fully cure and be used.

Be sure to only use dry erase markers on this space. When you want to clean the markings off the wall, use a dry eraser or a lint-free cloth.
