How to Use Drapes to Soften a Bedroom
Drapery can easily be an afterthought in any space you design, but it’s one of the most important decisions you can make, especially in a bedroom. Learn how to use drapes to soften a bedroom in this HGTV video:
Draperies block light. In spaces such as a bedroom, you really want it to be as dark as possible, especially when you’re sleeping in. Take store-bought drapes and re-line them with blackout fabrics in the back. You can really count on a totally blacked out room that way. Alternatively, you can have them custom done already made with blackout lining.
Drapery can add an architectural feature in the event you have an issue with placement of a bed. if you have a window-covered wall, floor-to-ceiling drapery will create a “false wall” for your headboard and provide necessary privacy.
Finally, drapery can add that touch of luxury that you need. Textured drapes tailored at the top with pinch pleats takes the design style over the top and makes the bedroom look way more expensive.
