How to Build a Raised Garden Bed
When it comes to gardening, raised beds not only are easier to plant, maintain and harvest than in-ground beds but also produce better and larger yields. Learn how to build a raised garden bed in this Better Homes and Gardens video:
1. Rake and level ground in raised bed location.
2. Cut 2×6 and 4×4 lumber to size.
3. Position 2×6’s at each side.
4. Ensure 4×4’s are square with 2×6’s using angle square.
5. Attach 2×6 to corner post with exterior screws.
6. Stack second 2×6 on top of first and secure.
7. Stand sides upright to form a square frame. Posts should face outside.
8. Attach side rails to posts with screws.
9. Measure diagonally to ensure frame is square. Adjust until both diagonals are equal length.
10. Pound in 2×2 stake at middle of each side.
11. Secure posts with screws.
12. Fill frame with soil.
