How to Spray Paint Hardware

Does the hardware in your home need updating? Instead of replacement, give your kitchen hardware, door knobs and floor vents a new look with metallic paint. It’s an easy DIY project that can be done in just a few minutes. Learn how to spray paint hardware in this Ace Hardware video:

Make sure your work area is well ventilated before getting started. Use a spray-on paint-and-primer metallic paint.

Door Knob: If it has been painted before, sand it down first. Make sure the knob is clean before painting. Set it on a box, then paint it using several light even coats. Let dry.

Floor Vent: Sand it down on both sides, then clean it, removing any debris, grease or oil. Spray paint it, let dry, then flip the vent over and repeat on the other side.
