Quick Bookshelf Makeover

Do you have a not-yet-styled bookshelf that’s been that way for months, or even years? Fortunately, this is a simple DIY project that you can do in minutes. Learn how to do a quick bookshelf makeover in this Better Homes and Gardens video:

1. Remove everything from the shelves.

2. “Shop your home”. You don’t need to go out and buy anything. Just look around your home and use what you have.

3. Gather your books and magazines. These will be your foundation and focal point.

4. Make buckets of collectibles, accessories, artwork, framed art, and plants (if you have them and have enough light for them).

5. Start at the bottom shelf with your largest items (e.g. books, magazines, small vases), then work your way to the top. Try to stick to a consistent color scheme.

6. Once your largest items are in place, you can fill in with details like small trinkets, accessories, plants, candles, or anything else you want to display.
