The homeowners wanted a nursery that was a comfortable space for mom, dad and baby and would be functional for the for the next 3-5 years. Good organization was also a must.

Here’s how symmetry was achieved:

1. Symmetry was created on the focal point wall (the wall with the crib. A simple graphic removable wallpaper was applied to the wall, and the window was balanced by a mirror of approximately the same width.

2. The walls beside the focal point were balanced with a changing table on one side and a rocking chair on the other.

3. Art was used to create symmetry. On one wall, two book cubbies were staggered and the surrounding spaces were filled with an art print and dried palm branches. On the opposite wall, three square art prints were placed above the closet. Tip: A mirror or other wall decor can be used in place or art.

4. Color was spread throughout the room. Three colors were utilized in the rug, pillows, artwork and other accessories.
