How to Shop for the Glam Design Style
The glam interior design style is characterized by glittering metals, luxurious fabrics, and sparkling accessories. Learn how to shop for the glam design style in this video by The Kinwoven Home:
1. Crisp whites with metallics and pastels: Plan for a mostly clean white palette with pops of pastels, gold and silver accents, and different jewel tones. This is a sophisticated palette; you can add in as much or as little color as you want, and you can be intentional with where you put your metallic and shimmery elements (artwork, dresser pulls or hardware, trays, vases, etc.).
2. Acrylic and marble materials: Incorporate acrylic or marble furniture pieces or decor accessories. The glam style can be very glitzy or a bit more on the modern side, and these materials really add a luxurious and chic vibe to your space. Look for acrylic tables, chairs with acrylic legs, acrylic tray handles, marble trays, marble cheese boards, and marble-topped tables.
3. Soft textures like faux fur, velvet or silk: These textures are seen as luxurious and cozy; they add dimension to the glam style and prevent the space from feeling too cold. Add a faux fur throw or rug, a shag rug, a velvet tufted bench or headboard, or a velvet duvet or pillows.
4. Mirror, glass and crystal decor and furniture: These elements really bring the glam style to elevated level of feeling completely luxurious. They can be incorporated in big or small ways – tables, lamps, or accessories like bookends. Look for pieces that combine all three elements.
5. A bold print: Include abstract designs, animal prints, or geometric prints in artwork, wall decor, or pillows.
