Northwest Modern Home

This Northwest modern home located in the Cascade Mountains of Washington state was designed to meet the present and future needs of a family of five with two dogs. The home incorporates wood, rusted metal exterior siding, and steel frames and columns as well as expansive windows that bring in lots of natural light and provide an almost 180-degree view of the natural surroundings. Visitors approaching the front entrance can see through the home directly into the backyard which faces a river. The home’s central nucleus is an open kitchen, dining and living area with a tight knot cedar ceiling that’s comfortable, clean and spacious. There are heated concrete floors, separate master and kids wings and a hallway with large wall-mounted Scrabble and chess boards on the walls, soft-seated bench with bookshelves and cupboards for games. The backyard has a propane fire pit. Concrete slabs, gabion stone barricades and the exterior metal siding and metal roofing make the home fire resistant. Take the tour in this HouzzTV video:
