A soaking bath can be a wonderful retreat after returning home from work after a long day. There are a number of options to choose from on the market if you are thinking about incorporating a deep soaking tub into your bathroom design. Japanese soaking tubs may come to mind, but they tend to be quite expensive. Fortunately, there are deep soaking tubs available on the market that are priced at or under $1,500 if you are willing to settle for a smaller tub depth.

Another option at the low end of the price range is the Sterling 71121122-47 Ensembleā¢ AFD Bathtub. This deep soaking tub measures 60″ x 32″ x 20″, comes in almond, biscuit and white finishes and has a retail price of $311.65. A larger model, the Kohler K-1229-L-0 Mariposa, measures 66″ x 35 7/8″ x 20″ and has a body-contoured design. This acrylic tub sells for around $865. Both of these tubs, however, can be found online at a 30-35% discount.
If you are contemplating a whirlpool tub, there are a number of models available in the American Standard Evolution Series. These acrylic deep soaking tubs fall in the $1,000 to $2,000 price range and feature ten jets. Triangular corner models are available.
The Bennington Acrylic Rolled Rim Clawfoot Tub is a freestanding soaking tub. This deep tub measures 61″ x 31″ x 26″and has solid brass cast feet with built-in adjusters that are available in a wide range of premium finishes. It is priced from $1,195.95 at Signature Hardware.
If your space is restricted and your options are limited to small soaking tubs, Sanctuary’s Petite and Small Easy Soak Walk In Tubs are a good choice. They are made of acrylic with a stainless steel substructure and have a front door opposite a 15″ high seat, making them ideal for elderly or disabled family members. These tubs are sold at AmeriGlide and sell for approximately $2,850. Whirlpool and air jet options are available for an additional $450 to $550.
The Americh Beverly 6040 Japanese style soaking tub with seat comes in nine colors and metallic trim options including antique brass, satin brass, polished gold and pewter. Optional accessories include chromatherapy, pillow and grab bars. Depending on the installation and whether you choose the airbath, this tub can run anywhere from $2,200 to $8,000. A more affordable alternative that is suitable for small bathrooms is Kohler’s K-1490-X Greek 4′ Japanese style tub which measures 48″ x 32″ x 23-3/8″. It comes in six colors and has a list price of $1,572.
Jacuzzi also makes deep soaking tubs. The Jacuzzi F943 5 Drop In Three Wall Alcove Soaking Tub is part of their Luxura Collection, has a contoured backrest and slip-resistant bottom and is available in an array of sizes. This tub sells from around $860 to $910 but can be found online from around $541 to $573.
If the sky is the limit in terms of your budget, you can go all out with Kohler’s K-1188-C1 sok overflowing bath with effervescence, chromatherapy and right-hand drain. The sok tub offers whole-body immersion with a continuous cascade of water over the sides. The list price for this “sensory sanctuary” is $11,313.
