Small Urban Condo Makeover
This 600 square-foot condo was in need of a refresh and had huge storage issues. With decorative accents and clever storage solutions, the upgraded space is more stylish and functional. See the features of this small urban condo makeover in this House & Home video:
The original kitchen had only one wall of cabinets and a mobile island that took up an excessive amount of space. Removing the island not only made the kitchen feel bigger but also allowed for new upper and lower cabinetry. New pendant lighting above the sink breaks up the cabinetry. An L-shaped peninsula provides extra storage, a work surface and an eating area.
New built-ins on the TV wall in the living room provide space for books and decor. A custom niche stores mobile ottomans that can be used as extra dining room seating. The refreshed dining room has a 48-inch round dining table that seats four, recessed lighting, and a dark green accent wall with a round mirror and credenza.
In the bedroom, storage is enhanced with a customized closet with pull-out drawers. The bed is on hydraulics, allowing for under-bed storage. Metallic wallpaper behind the bed creates a dramatic accent wall. The bathroom had a complete overhaul including a new vanity, tile, shower panel, tub, medicine cabinet and sconce lighting.
