Traveling Therapists’ Home in San Diego

This traveling therapist’s home in San Diego was built for the equivalent of one year’s rent and one year’s worth of DIY project work. Take the tour in this Living Big in a Tiny Home video:

This 8-1/2 ft x 22 ft home has an open design and two skylights that brighten the space. Elevating the kitchen allows for his-and-hers closet drawers under the floor that measure about 3 ft x 7 ft. The beautiful hickory laminate click flooring was acquired secondhand for free.

At one end is the lounge which is used for reading, eating and watching TV and has a sofa with built-in storage that also converts into a bed for guests.

The central galley kitchen has a double farmhouse sink on one side and a 7-foot countertop and portable stove top on the other. A space between the lower cabinetry provides a space for eating.
There are two lofts which are accessed by a re-purposed painter’s ladder. The sleeping loft has a large bed and skylight, while a second loft serves as a overhead clothes closet.

Last but not least, the bathroom has a vanity, a vintage cast iron clawfoot tub, shower, and chemical toilet.
