Studio Space Makeover on Three Different Budgets
Designer Rebecca Robeson shows how you can transform a small space into a bedroom, living room, closet and office and what you can do for $1200, $2500, or $5500. See the features of this studio space makeover on three different budgets in this video by Robeson Design:
First of all (applicable to any budget level), clean your space! Doing this will actually make the most impact in any room.
$1200 Budget:
You want to use what you got, create a logical layout and fill in spaces. The sectional, desk, bed and wardrobe systems were kept and arranged to create the four zones.
The dark sectional was brightened with white and cream pillows. The clock tower was repositioned to make it a focal point on one wall, and the look was softened with plants and other decor.
New white bedding and two flanking tripod lamps transform the bed into another focal point. Artwork on the wardrobe cabinets brighten things up, and adding mirrored doors make the space feel bigger
$2500 Budget:
With extra money, you can replace the bedframe, add seating, and make extra updates.
There is a new bed, but the white bedding was kept. The shade on the door was replaced with white matchstick blinds. There is brand-new artwork on the walls, a new rug, and new chairs. The sofa and desk chairs were replaced with re-purposed white ones, and the desk has a lamp and a few more accessories.
$5500 Budget:
This budget allows for more accessories, window treatments and a TV.
The bed now has colorful pillowcases and a new duvet. Beautiful white linen draperies cover the windows. The living area has a coffee table with a decorated mirrored tray and a new rug. More accessories and a computer were added to the desk. The showstopper is the LG OLED Smart TV with its gallery mode that resembles a work of art.
