How to Create a Shimmer Wall Using Glitter Paint

While you can add glitter to regular paint instead of buying glitter paint, more expertise is required to get the same result that is achieved using a specially formulated thicker glitter paint.

Stir the glitter paint well to suspend the glitter evenly throughout the paint. You can use a brush, roller, or sprayer to apply the paint to the wall. In this video, a roller is used.

Prep the wall with a primer. You’ll want a base coat similar in color to the glitter paint you’ll be using.

Fully coat the roller and get rid of any excess. Apply vertically in nice even coats, avoiding any roping. Let dry for 2-4 hours, then apply a second coat horizontally in order to get consistent covering. A bright light shining on the wall will help you assess your handiwork. Allow the final coat to dry for 2-4 hours.
