1980s-Inspired Bathroom Makeover

This bathroom was stuck in the 1980s, a period when creativity was at a peak. The homeowners wanted to get rid of the red tub, and they also needed a double vanity. The goal was to modernize the design of the space while retaining its retro vibe. See the details of this 1980s-inspired bathroom makeover in this Lowe’s video:

A new neutral porcelain tub allows the elements of the room to become more of a focal point. Replacing the black linoleum flooring with white marble-look tile with darker veins brightens up the space. The wooden double vanity with its black quartz countertop retains the ’80s vibe. Inspired by the original black and white tile, the new straight stacked rectangular tile is color blocked with white tile on the bottom and and black tile on the top. The ceiling was painted lavender to soften the black and white tile and add a hint of playfulness. An arched mirror, brass pendant lighting, black fixtures, open shelving and towel hooks provide the finishing touches.
